Automated DMs are often used to deliver links, instructions, menus, guides, or next steps after a user comments on a post. Plain text messages work, but they are not always the most effective way to present structured information.
ReplyFox now supports sending automated DMs in rich card format. Instead of text-only messages, you can send a structured card that includes an image, title, subtitle, buttons, and a default click action.
Rich card DMs are available as an alternative to plain text DMs and can be configured directly inside auto reply rules.
What Is a Rich Card DM
A rich card DM is a structured message format that combines visual and interactive elements in a single message block.
A card can include an image, a title, a short subtitle, and up to three buttons. Each button can point to its own URL. The card itself can also have a default action URL when the main area is clicked.
This makes it possible to present offers, catalogs, booking links, menus, guides, or product pages in a clearer and more actionable format than plain text alone.
Configured Inside Auto Reply Rules
Rich card DMs are configured as part of auto reply rules — the same place where DM follow-ups are already defined today.
When a rule triggers a DM, you can choose between sending a plain text message or a rich card message. The triggering logic does not change. Only the message format changes.
This keeps automation predictable while giving more flexibility in how information is presented.
Designed for High-Intent Interactions
Rich card DMs work especially well when users show clear intent in comments — for example asking for details, requesting a link, or responding to a call to action.
Instead of sending a long text message with multiple links, you can send a structured card with clear buttons such as “View Menu,” “Book Now,” or “See Pricing.” This reduces friction and makes next steps obvious.
Visual Structure Improves Clarity
Structured messages are easier to scan than text paragraphs. A clear title, short subtitle, and focused buttons help users understand what to do next without reading through dense text.
This is particularly useful on mobile, where most Instagram DMs are read.
Same Automation, New Format
Rich card DMs are an alternative format, not a separate automation system. They use the same triggering rules and the same processing pipeline as existing DM automation.
